Adventures

Welcome to our Adventures.

You know it's not all work and professional development.  Here we share the fun parts which happen after work.

A pictorial diary of my yacht trip around the North Island in October 2011 - Anita Galland

Our friend Barry needed a crew to accompany him taking his yacht from Westhaven Marina to Tarakohe Marina and my husband Steve and I jumped at the chance. We left Rotorua on Thursday 20 October and departed Westhaven Marina in Auckland that night.

Heading north we moored overnight at Whangaroa.

Sailing south to Port Taranaki the horizon was the same all around

There’s always an office wherever you go.

And you want your dinner when?

The quiet moments

Finally arrive in Port Taranaki.  The weather south turned on us so we stayed for a couple of days.

The men were intoxicated with the delights of having gone ashore

Dinner compliments of Chaddy’s Charters at Port Taranaki

After arriving at Tarakohe Marina in Golden Bay, a decent shower and good night’s sleep at Awaroa Lodge in the Abel Tasman National Park, Barry hired a cessna to take us to Nelson from where we flew back home to Rotorua.

We hope he needs to take Blaze north again before he buys another boat.

Our route taken from Westhaven to Tarakohe

Many thanks Anita for sharing this wonderful post.  I green with envy and positively drooling over the size of that snapper!!!!
